The preverbal game of two halves saw theĀ  hoose fall to a disappointing 4-2 away defeat against a well organised and disciplined Pumpherston side at Recreation Park.

Having played some controlling, entertaining football and taking the lead from a Mark Duffy strike in the 39th minute the hoose looked comfortable going into the half time break.

The hoose started brightly in the 2nd half and had a penalty claim waved away by the official on the 5oth minute when Rankin was cleared out by the Pumpherston goal keeper in the box.

Further chances were not taken to extend the hoose lead which was inevitably punished on the 55th minute from a header in the box beating Wallace at his left hand post to take the fixture to 1-1.

This galvanised Pumpherston who took the lead and essential control of the game on the 57th minute with a strike just inside the box taking the score to 2-1.

Pumpherston extended their lead in the 75th minute and again on the 80th minute when they were awarded a penalty which was comfortably converted. 4-1

The hoose brough one back through a Stuart Thomson header but it was nothing more than a consolation.

Final Score 4-2

Very much a game of 2 halves.

The hoose welcome Bathgate Thistle to Parkview on Satuardy 1st October 2022 and are hoping that they can recapture and maintain the 1st half performance for what will be a challenging fixture.
