Injuries, suspensions and forced shape changes seen the Hoose fall out of the EoSFL Qualifying Cup at the 2nd round stage with  a 5-1 away defeat at the hands of a robust Burntisland Shipyard team.

Burntisland opened the scoring in and around the 7th minute following some slack retention of the ball in midfield which seen the Shippy cross in from the left wing to which was put away down to the left of Weatherby’s goal.

The Shippy came close again in the 10th minute as they hit the cross bar but didn’t have long to wait to secure their 2nd.

Again some poor retention of the ball in midfield seen the Shippy break free down the middle with the break eventually stopped by some foul play.

The resulting the free kick was calmly converted as it beat the wall down to Weatherby’s right hand corner.

The Hoose came close in the 32nd minute with a shot from Chris Philbin which drew a fine save by the Shippy keeper.
